Scott City and Kelly found little resistance in the opening round of the Scott Mississippi Conference Tournament Monday night as both posted lopsided victories.

Kelly, seeded second, posted an 82-24 victory over No. 7 East Prairie. Scott City, seeded third, scored an identical 82-point total in a 82-34 win over No. 6 Chaffee.

Scott City and Kelly will meet in Thursday's semifinals. Top-seeded Scott County Central received a bye and No. 4 Oran and No. 5 Delta play in Wednesday's final first-round game.

Audrey Burford, Bridgette Riley and Marissa Essner each netted 19 points in Kelly's victory. The Lady Hawks led 26-6 after one quarter and 52-12 at halftime.

Becca Gowen poured in a game-high 26 points in Scott City's victory while Crystal Smith tallied 15. Lani Bedwell scored 10 points and dished out 10 assists while making four steals.

Jackson 66, New Madrid Co. Central 43

NEW MADRID -- Andrea Koeper, Chrissi Glastetter and Melissa Palmer had big outings as Jackson moved to 2-0 in SEMO Conference play with its win over New Madrid.

Palmer scored 20 points, Glastetter had 18 and Koeper added 16 as Jackson improved to 7-1.

Leading 16-12 after one quarter, a 20-7 second-quarter edge handed Jackson a 36-19 halftime lead.

"We played a good game," Jackson coach Ron Cook said. "Our press got to them and we forced a lot of turnovers."

Perryville 68, Herculaneum 25

PERRYVILLE -- Perryville blasted out a 30-7 first-quarter lead in a rout of Jefferson County Conference foe Herculaneum.

Perryville (5-6, 1-0) held a lopsided 44-13 lead at halftime.

Tiffany Perkins led the rout with 19 points and Jeni Blevins netted 12.

St. Vincent 38, Hillsboro 20

PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent won its Jefferson County Conference opener as Hillsboro never scored more than six points in a quarter.

The Squaws netted just one point in the third, but still held a comfortable 27-16 lead entering the fourth period. St. Vincent (4-6, 1-0) had led 26-12 at halftime.

Jessica Lakenan and Sara Cissell each netted 11 points for St. Vincent.

Steelville 52, Perryville 41

CHESTER, Ill. -- Perryville lost in the opening round of the Chester Tournament Monday night.

The Pirates held a 10-9 first-quarter lead, but saw Steelville move ahead 19-14 by halftime. Steelville extended its lead to 35-27 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Ryan Verseman paced Perryville with 14 points.
