MORLEY, Mo. -- Scott County Central snapped a late deadlock with a big fourth quarter as the Braves defeated Oran 73-58 Tuesday night in boys basketball action.

With the score tied 50-50 entering the final period, Scott County Central held a 23-8 scoring advantage over the final eight minutes.

Scott Central (9-8), which took a 32-29 lead into the second half, found itself down by nine points in the third quarter before staging a rally over the final minutes of the period.

"We played some very good defense and got some easy bucket opportunities to get it tied," said Scott Central coach Steve Wells.

Terrance Williams scored 18 points to lead Scott Central while Chris Pullen scored eight of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. Chris Johnson added 15 points and Todd Blissett finished with 14.

Adam Friga paced Oran with 18 points while Nathan Seyer had 12 and Ryne Wood had 11.

Kelly 86, Chaffee 63

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Eleven Hawks found the scoring column as Kelly coasted to a comfortable victory.

Michael Romas led Kelly with 13 points while Adam Duncan and Jon Heuring had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Andrew Horrell scored a season-high 25 points for Chaffee (5-10). Chase Eskew added 10 points.

Kelly led 12-8 after one quarter, 34-23 at halftime and 59-40 entering the final period.

Chaffee's JV won 54-53 to improve to 9-6.

Woodland 67, Delta 54

DELTA, Mo. -- After scoring just 24 points in battling Delta to a first-half tie, Woodland broke loose for 23 points in the third period.

The Cardinals took a 47-33 lead into the fourth quarter.

"After halftime, Woodland was a little more aggressive and got after the ball," said Delta coach Jim Gloth.

Woodland's Alex VanGennip led all scorers with 26 points, hitting four of the Cardinals' eight 3-pointers. Jared Houchins finished with 15 points and Ryan Bandermann had 11.

Lance Kinder tallied 16 points for Delta (10-7) and Troy Nussbaum netted 15.

Festus 69, St. Vincent 61

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Frigid fourth-quarter shooting denied St. Vincent a win over conference foe Festus.

Down 39-31 at halftime, the Indians rallied to take a 53-48 lead going into the final period.

But Festus, riding the hot hand of Adam Whitehead who scored 14 of his game-high 25 points in the fourth, came back to outscore St. Vincent 21-8 in the final eight minutes.

Tyler Wengert paced St. Vincent with 18, while Mark Gotto and Ryan Brown added 15 and 12, respectively.

Eagle Ridge 65, Solid Rock 53

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- The Eagles (7-9), in control throughout, turned in a solid performance against Solid Rock.

The win placed the Eagles at the top of the Ozark Christian Athletic Conference at 4-0.

A balanced scoring attack, with four players in double-digits, offset a barrage of 3-pointers by Solid Rock, which had 10 treys.

Kris Dodson led Eagle Ridge with 20 points, Mike Probst and Toby Shreve added 16 apiece and Andrew Mellies chipped in with 11.

John Scribner led Solid Rock with 16 points, including five 3-pointers.

Perryville 61, Herculaneum 58

HERCULANEUM, Mo. -- The Pirates plundered the Black Cats for three quarters, then held on for the win.

Leading 53-42 going into the last period, the Pirates escaped with the three-point victory. Herculaneum outscored Perryville 16-8 in the quarter, knocking down two treys in the closing minute.

Perryville improved to 13-7, 5-1 in the Jefferson County Conference.

Tyler Abernathy led the Pirates with 18 points and Chad Ozark added 15.

BOYS SWIMMING

Parkway Central 109Cape Central 74

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Tigers fell short in a dual at Parkway Central.

Central's 200 freestyle relay team, however, qualified for the upcoming state meet with a time of 1:35.37, well below the cut time of 1:36.09.

Cape Central (6-8) closes out the regular season hosting Country Day on Friday.

Eagle Ridge Christian 62Solid Rock 29

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Eagle Ridge broke open a fairly close game with a strong second half.

The Lady Eagles (9-3) kept their conference record unblemished at 4-0.

Leading only 27-21 at the intermission, Eagle Ridge used full-court pressure in the second half to break down their opponent, outscoring Solid Rock 35-8.

Eagle Ridge's leading scorer, eighth-grader Amber Karnes, recorded a career high with 29 points. Cara Ervin contributed 15, while Carrie Margrabe notched 10.

Jessica Vandiver led Solid Rock with 16 points.

WRESTLING

Farmington 46, Jackson 20

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- The Indians were outmuscled by perennial wrestling powerhouse Farmington.

Jackson closed the regular season at 8-2. They will host the district meet on Saturday.

"We wrestled hard, maybe not smart," said Jackson coach Steve Wachter. "We just got beat by a better team."

Jackson's junior varsity beat Farmington 54-21 for its 96th consecutive victory. The JV finished the season 10-0.
