DELTA -- Scott County Central's Ashley Whitson scored a game-high 20 points as the Bravettes won the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament championship Saturday with a 55-49 victory over Kelly.
Brandy Miller added 12 points in the victory.
Marissa Essner paced Kelly with 16 points and Bridgette Riley finished with 12.
Kelly led 25-19 at halftime, but Scott County Central moved ahead with a 17-7 scoring advantage in the third quarter for a 36-32 lead.
The Bravettes outscored Kelly 19-17 over the final eight minutes.
Scott City defeated Chaffee 49-22 in the JV championship game. Robin Oller led Scott City with 13 points.
Boys basketball
Sikeston 65, Oran 53
SIKESTON -- Oran, a Class 1A school, stayed with its Class 4A counterpart for one quarter before Sikeston pulled away Friday night.
The Eagles took a 14-12 lead into the second quarter but saw Sikeston take a 32-26 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs iced the game in the third quarter with a 20-9 scoring edge.
Jerod Hamm paced Oran (8-4) with 16 points, while Travis Friga netted 12 and Daniel Wheeler had 10.

Cape Central 78, Hancock 30
ST. LOUIS -- In a dual meet plagued by forfeits, Cape Central won all eight matches it wrestled Saturday.
The meet featured five double forfeits and Central won two matches by forfeit. But Cape Central wrestlers posted pins in four of the matches wrestled and won two others by technical falls.

IMPERIAL -- Jackson's freshmen won the Windsor Ninth Grade Tournament while Cape Central placed fourth.
Jackson accumulated 153 points while Cape Central tallied 65.
For Cape Central, Pierre Fairfax placed first in the 112-pound class, while Clint Hoffman (103) and Shannon Mungle (160) placed second.
