SIKESTON — Scott County Central served up a masterclass in puzzle-solving, systematically dismantling Zalma, piece by piece, exposing every weakness and exploiting every opportunity.

The Braves (2-2) left no doubt, exploding to a 38-1 lead after the first quarter en route to a dominant 75-25 victory over the Bulldogs (1-5) on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

“We played hard,” said SCC coach Tim Carlisle. “It was a good collective effort from everyone who played.”

A whopping eleven Braves got in on the scoring action, showcasing their diverse offensive skillset. Namarius Banks-Warren and Courtney Sanders III led the pack with 12 and 11 points, respectively, but it was a true team effort that propelled SCC to victory.

Zalma travels to Scott City (2-0) on Thursday, Dec. 7, while SCC is on the road at Delta (0-0) on Friday, Dec. 8.

Risco's hot shooting hands proved the difference in a 62-50 win at Oran on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

The Tigers (3-1) sank 10 3-pointers, leaving the Eagles (2-2) scrambling for answers.

“Risco is a well coached team and shot the ball very well,” said Oran coach Joe Shoemaker. “Our players battled hard but we struggled to make shots during stretches. Our second group brought lots of energy from the bench and this is something we can build off of.”

Sammy Smith spearheaded Risco’s assault with 21 points while Nolan Loper led Oran with 15.
