The Saxony Lutheran girls basketball team opened its season with a 50-22 loss at Sikeston on Tuesday.
Natalie Mueller led the Crusaders with seven points and nine rebounds.
Maci Daniel added five points, while Chandler Short pulled down seven rebounds.
The Crusaders finished with 12 steals in the contest.
"Our effort was good, we just have to work on our fundamentals," Saxony coach Sam Sides said. "We just don't have any girls that have much basketball experience."
