The Saxony Lutheran boys basketball team completed a dominant run through its own tournament by beating St. Vincent 66-51 Saturday night.

The Crusaders (8-1) finished 3-0 in the six-team event, with the other wins being 72-40 over Zalma and 76-25 over Marquand.

Alex Jauch paced the Crusaders with 15 points against defending champion St. Vincent. Clay Obergoenner and Bret Steffens both added 11 points.

St. Vincent (5-4) was led by Justin L'Hote with 14 points.

The Indians trailed just 10-9 after one quarter but the Crusaders began to pull away with a 17-16 halftime lead. It was 48-31 entering the final period.

"This was a good, hard-fought win for us," Saxony coach John Daniel said.

Christ Our Savior Lutheran of Evansville, Ill., beat Zalma for third place, and Ste. Genevieve Valle defeated Marquand for fifth place. Scores were not available.

Jauch and Max Wieser of Saxony made the all-tournament team, along with St. Vincent's L'Hote, Valle's Kyle Basler and COSL's Tyler Schaffner.
