The Saxony Lutheran boys basketball team used a big second quarter to ruin Scott City's season opener Tuesday night with an 80-67 victory.
The Crusaders outscored the host Rams 33-18 in the second period to erase a 14-9 first-quarter deficit and go up 42-32 at halftime.
Alex Jauch led the Crusaders (2-0) with 25 points. Ben Courtois added 14, followed by Max Wieser with 13, Clay Obergoenner with 11 and Brett Steffens with 10.
The Rams received 19 points from Jamie Pinkston. Jay Simmons had 14, Ethan Watkins 12 and Alex King 10.
