OAK RIDGE — The first-year Campbell High School cross country team picked up four medals during the Oak Ridge Invitational Tuesday.

Oak Ridge is a traditional power in the sport of cross country, so this gave the Camels an opportunity to compete against some top talent.

Drew Fowler was the Camels’ top finisher in 17th (19:46.81). Samuel Bunting and

Ben Rowland also earned medals — taking 20th and 27th, respectively.

Campbell finished fourth overall in the team standings, with Zander Mayberry’s and Clay Huber’s placement figuring in the final result of 127 points.

Taylor Coleman grabbed a medal on the girls’ side, taking 18th in a time of 25:54.63.

Soccer

SIKESTON — Kennett junior Brayden Garza tallied the Indians’ lone goal in a 3-1 loss at Sikeston Tuesday.

Kennett also suffered a 3-0 setback in a hard-fought contest versus Farmington on Monday at the Mineral Area College Soccer Complex in Park Hills.

The Indians (1-5) are playing a junior varsity schedule for these two seasons.

Kennett’s next match is slated for Monday, Sept. 25, at Saxony Lutheran in Jackson.

Girls Tennis

CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Kennett High School girls tennis team recorded its 54th straight victory during Tuesday’s duel with Cape Central.
