The Plaza Tire Capahas hadn't lost a game on their home field at Capaha Park since the 2011 season.
They'd recorded 48 straight victories before dropping a 9-5 decision to the St. Louis Raging Bulls in Game 2 of a doubleheader on Saturday.
"It's ironic my 48th year we win 48 straight and then the record's stopped," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said. "Baseball's kind of funny that way."
The Capahas trailed 4-2 going into the fifth inning, but the Bulls scored five runs in the inning.
Riley Calvird suffered the loss after allowing six earned runs through the fifth inning.
Notre Dame graduate Justin Landewee relieved Calvird in the fifth and allowed three runs, two earned.
The Capahas scored three runs in the seventh inning, but Jesse Schott was thrown out at the plate to end the game.
The Capahas play the Bulls at 1 p.m. today at Capaha Field.
After playing a scoreless game against the Charleston Riverdogs through seven and a half innings the Plaza Tire Capahas picked up the only run it would need in the bottom of the eighth inning Friday night at Capaha Field.
Catcher Alex Heuring doubled to lead off the inning and eventually scored the only run in a 1-0 Capahas victory.
With two outs in the eighth Kenton Parmley hit a hard grounder to short and the throw to first pulled the first baseman off the bag and skipped away from him to allow Heurring, an Oran graduate, to score from second.
Central graduate Andrew Williams started on the mound for the Capahas and did not allow a hit through the first 6 2/3 innings.
After an error, Williams allowed his only hit of the game -- a double. The runner that had reached on the error attempted to score on the double but was thrown out at home by left fielder Brandon Bennett to end the seventh.
Central graduate Lance Young, who was credited with the win, pitched the eighth and ninth innings in relief. He struck out the three batters he faced in the eighth and two of three batters in the ninth.
Notre Dame graduate Alex Beussink took the loss on the mound for the Riverdogs.
