The Rib City Shootout hits Poplar Bluff today and tomorrow with basketball most of the day at the Libla Family Sports Complex and Black River Coliseum.

Poplar Bluff, East Carter and Dexter are among the local teams participating with the event boasting as many as 53 teams that include junior high, junior varsity and varsity teams.

Libla will be utilizing three courts as will Black River Coliseum for the event.

Teams will play three games with the semifinals starting at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Finals start at 6:15 at both locations.

Poplar Bluff is scheduled to take on Thayer (9:45 a.m. on Libla 2) on Thursday. East Carter battles Puxico (5:15 p.m. on Libla 1) and then will play Harrisburg, Arkansas, (8:15 p.m. on Libla 1) on Thursday. On Friday, they take on Leopold (9:15 a.m. on Libla 1).

Dexter will battle Harrisburg, Arkansas (3:45 p.m. on Libla 2) and then take on Cave City, Arkansas (6 p.m. on Libla 3). The Bearcats third game is against Cuba (1 p.m. on Libla 1) on Friday.

Teams from as far as Murray, Kentucky, Dyer County, Tennessee, and Whitehaven, Tennessee, will all be showcasing their skills over the next two days.

Action starts at 9 a.m. today and 9:15 a.m. on Friday.
