Dillon Klaffer set the school record to help the host Bulldogs to a second-place finish at their own meet.
Klaffer covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 13.90 seconds, good enough for second place. West Plains' Philip Palamino broke his own course record, finishing in 15:52.
West Plains won the boys title with 28 points while Notre Dame was second with 36. Saxony Lutheran took fourth (117) and Kelly fifth (141).
Notre Dame's Jessica Banda was the top local finisher in the girls race. She took seventh in 20:36.90. The Bulldogs finished third with 85 points. West Plains won with 20.
Poplar Bluff's Hannah Blalock won the girls race in 19:27.80.

Central lost to O'Fallon later Saturday 3-1. Lawrence scored in the loss.
