SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jake Reeves came from two strokes back in the final round to tie Todd Pinneo at the end of regulation Sunday, then birdied the first extra hole to win the NGA/Hooters Tour Health Facilities Classic at Boothill Golf Club.

The victory by Reeves of Knoxville, Tenn., marked the first time this season a player has won two events. He won for the first time in a playoff at Rock Hill, S.C., in April, and lost last month in a playoff in Richmond, Va., to Dave Schreyer.

The victory was worth $20,000 to Reeves, who moves into first place on the NGA/Hooters Tour money list with earnings of $78,338.10.

Reeves' chance for a win in the playoff didn't look good after his tee shot drifted right and came to rest on the side of a steep bank in the rough.

"You always want a good lie in the rough," he said, "but I got a lie that was almost too good."

His ball was on a mound of grass 4 inches high.

"I knew there was a water hazard on the left and a bunker on the right where the ball would bury," he said, "so I aimed straight at the pin."

The ball landed short of the green, spun back 40 feet and came to rest on a slight uphill rise.

"I hit a bump-and-run with an eight-iron and just tried to stroke it like a putt," he said.

The ball nudged the flag stick and dropped in for a birdie. Pinneo, whose approach shot landed on the far back of the green 60 feet from the hole, ran his tying putt attempt by the hole.

Pinneo, who entered this week's event 60th on the money list, was 5-under on the front side but managed only even par on the back nine for a 5-under par 67. Reeves, who started the final round in a tie for sixth place, two shots behind Pinneo and David Dyer, shot 65 on Sunday, moving into a tie with Pinneo after an eagle on 12 and a birdie on 13.
