The Southeast Missouri State men's track and field program has received Ohio Valley Conference male field athlete of the week honors for the third consecutive week.

Senior Brandon Colbert picked up the latest award Tuesday after his performance over the weekend at the Joey Haines Invitational hosted by Southeast.

Colbert, a two-time OVC outdoor male field athlete of the year (2007, 2009), won the weekly award for the second time this outdoor season and the seventh time in his career.

Colbert recorded three top-10 finishes, including the shot put title with a distance of 56 feet, 8 3/4 inches that is the best in the OVC this season.

In addition, Colbert placed third in the hammer throw and sixth in the discus.

Colbert and his teammates will travel to Oxford, Miss., on Saturday to participate in the Ole Miss Invitational.
