The Southeast Missouri State softball team picked up its first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season during Friday's doubleheader split at defending OVC champion Tennessee Tech.
Southeast won the opener 4-0, but dropped the nightcap 5-1.
The Redhawks are 11-15 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Eagles are 16-16-1 and 2-2.
Elaine Fisher pitched an eight-hit shutout in the opener. She struck out seven and walked two over seven innings.
Southeast had five hits, including Michelle Summers' team-leading seventh home run of the season. Summers finished the game 2-for-3.
The Redhawks had six hits in the nightcap, with Megan McDonald going 2-for-3. Allie Borowiak accounted for Southeast's run with her fourth homer of the season.
Whitney Dupuis took the loss, allowing seven hits and four earned runs in six innings.
Southeast and Tech finish up their three-game series today.
