The Redhawks softball team dropped a doubleheader at Western Kentucky on Monday, falling 3-1 and 10-8 to the Hilltoppers.
Southeast (6-10) was held to four hits in the opener, a 3-1 loss. Megan McDonald had the lone RBI. Elaine Fisher allowed three runs in six innings, all on solo home runs.
The second game saw the two teams combine for 24 hits. Stacia Dopudja led the Redhawks with two home runs in a three-hit performance. Elise Sperakos added two hits and three RBIs, and McDonald and Lindsay Pickering added home runs.
Southeast is back in action for a doubleheader today at Middle Tennessee State.
Renfrow earns OVC honor
Southeast Missouri State pitcher Dustin Renfrow earned his second Ohio Valley Conference pitcher of the week honor for his performance this past week.
Renfrow moved his record to 2-0 with a four-hit performance against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a 5-0 win Friday.
The junior right-hander struck out five and did not allow a run in a complete-game performance to lower his ERA to 1.45.
