The Southeast Missouri State women's soccer team fell short in its quest for its first goal and first victory Sunday with a 2-0 loss to Army in the Toys for Tots Soccer Classic at Saint Louis University.
Army outshot the Redhawks 18-9 and scored both its goals in the first 8 minutes of the game.
Dymon Washington beat Southeast goalkeeper Jessica Beckham at the 3:19 mark, while Pia White added the second goal at the 7:33 mark.
The Redhawks managed just three shots on Army goalkeeper Alex Lostetter and fell to 0-2.
Army improved to 4-1.
Southeast returns to action Saturday when Southern Illinois-Edwardsville visits Houck Stadium for a 7 p.m. contest.
Baseball tryouts
The Southeast baseball program has rescheduled its open walk-on tryouts to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Capaha Field.
All interested participants must be enrolled at Southeast with at least 12 credit hours. They also must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse and have a physical on file. Players need to arrive at the tryout in baseball attire.
