The Southeast Missouri State women's soccer team suffered a stunning loss Friday afternoon and fell out of a tie for first place in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Last-place Morehead State topped the Redhawks 2-0 in Morehead, Ky.

Southeast dropped to 7-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in OVC play. The Eagles improved to 4-7 and 1-4.

The Redhawks and goalkeeper Lindsay Pickering had not been scored upon for the past four games, but it took the Eagles barely 11 minutes to end that streak.

Kelly Busch put Morehead State ahead 11:06 into the contest. Rebekah Kendall added insurance at the 75:14 mark. The Eagles outshot Southeast 13-8.

Southeast plays Sunday at Eastern Kentucky.

Volleyball falls at Tech

Southeast's volleyball team fell to a team that entered play Friday tied for last in the OVC, as host Tennessee Tech prevailed 30-25, 25-30, 23-30, 30-22, 15-13.

The Redhawks (6-11, 3-3) were led by Jill Miller with 20 kills. Jessica Koeper added 19 kills and Brittany Hastings had 13. Miller and Lauren Scannell both had 19 digs, while Jamie Baumstark recorded 52 assists.

Anne Morrow led the Eaglettes (5-11, 1-4) with 23 kills.

Southeast has a nonconference match today at Middle Tennessee State.
