The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team has landed a second player during the NCAA's early signing period.
Southeast on Monday announced the signing of 5-foot-7 guard Yelena Rosado, a senior at North County Tech High School in St. Louis.
"Yelena is a very welcome addition to our program," Southeast coach John Ishee said in a release. "She's a long and athletic guard that possesses a lot of natural ability and a high basketball IQ."
Rosado averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 3.2 steals per game as a junior last season. She helped her team to a school-record 20 wins and its first district title.
Rosado poured in 33 points during the district final. She scored 21 points in a first-round playoff win before North County Tech lost in the state quarterfinals.
"She has a lot of upside and I see a bright future for her," Ishee said. "Our staff, particularly coach [Dionnah] Jackson, was crucial in landing her talents. We look forward to her wearing a Redhawk uniform."
Rosado joins Allyson Bradshaw, a senior guard at Notre Dame Regional High School, as early signees for the Redhawks.
