~ Southeast had 12 hits in each game en route to 8-0 and 9-1 victories against last-place Morehead State.
The rampaging Southeast Missouri State softball team picked up two more lopsided wins Saturday and remained in second place in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Host Southeast swamped last-place Morehead State in a doubleheader, romping 8-0 and 9-1 with 12 hits in each game. Both contests were stopped in the bottom of the sixth inning by the eight-run mercy rule.
The Redhawks improved to 19-9 overall and 7-1 in OVC play. They have won six straight games and 15 of their last 17.
The Eagles fell to 10-22 and 1-9.
Elaine Fisher (8-6) pitched a three-hit shutout in the opener, with five strikeouts and no walks.
Megan McDonald went 4-for-4 with her fifth home run of the season and a double to back Fisher.

Summers, who led the Redhawks in home runs as a freshman last year with 10, has 19 career homers, which is just one shy of the school record. She is also just two away from the single-season mark of 11.
Freshman Lauren Bradley had two hits, including her fourth homer, and drove in three runs. Freshman Jenn Monaghan doubled twice.
Stephanie Huffman (10-3) pitched a five-hitter in the nightcap, with six strikeouts and one walk.
