The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team suffered a tough loss to begin Ohio Valley Conference play.
In a marathon match Friday night, host Tennessee State outlasted the Redhawks 30-27, 27-30, 30-21, 27-30, 15-12.
Southeast fell to 3-7 overall, while Tennessee State improved to 3-6.
Karleigh DeLong had 21 kills to lead Southeast, followed by Aubrey Dondlinger with 17 and Brenna Schlader with 11.
DeLong also led the Redhawks in digs with 18, while Molly Davis had 14 and Dondlinger 10. Sarah Barth recorded 54 assists.
Southeast remains on the road today for a 2 p.m. OVC match against Tennessee Tech.
Soccer falls at SLU
Regional power Saint Louis University defeated Southeast 3-1 on Friday night in the Toys for Tots tournament, hosted by the Billikens.
Southeast is 2-2-1 and SLU is 2-2.
After a scoreless opening half, SLU's Alyssa Mautz scored twice in the first 18 minutes of the second half.
The Redhawks got their lone goal about 27 minutes into the second half as Courtney Alexander scored unassisted, but the Billikens iced things with their final goal three minutes later.
SLU held an 18-6 advantage in shots.
Southeast concludes the tournament Sunday with an 11 a.m. match against Air Force.
