Southeast Missouri State junior third baseman Trenton Moses has been named the Ohio Valley Conference player of the week for the third time this season.
Moses batted .692 (9 for 13) in four games last week. He had two doubles, a home run, six RBIs and six runs scored to help the Redhawks go 3-1.
Moses, an Advance High School graduate, is second in the OVC in batting (.405), second in RBIs (51) and tied for third in homers (11). He is also second in slugging percentage (.693) and on-base percentage (.502).
Moses is one of the top candidates for OVC player of the year. The award will be announced tonight.
The Redhawks (32-20) earned the No. 2 seed for this week's OVC tournament in Jackson, Tenn. They received an opening-round bye and will play their first tournament game at 3 p.m. Thursday.
