A night after getting swept in its home opener, the Southeast Missouri State volleyball team got out the brooms.
The Redhawks took care of Tennessee-Martin in three games Saturday to notch their first victory at home.
Junior Aubrey Dondlinger led the Redhawks' attack with 17 kills while senior Brittany Hastings and sophomore Karleigh DeLong added 13 kills apiece.
The victory pushes the Redhawks' record in the Ohio Valley Conference to 3-2, while Tennessee-Martin dropped to 1-4.
Junior Alyssa Aston had 46 assists in the winning effort.
Dondlinger led the Redhawks with four services aces, while sophomore Molly Davis led the team with 18 digs. Dondlinger and Hastings both added 11 digs.
Kathryn Sprague was the only Skyhawks player with double-digit kills, tallying 10.
Game scores were 30-24, 30-26, 30-21.
Cross country
Juli Koenegstein led the women's team to victory at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill.
Koenegstein, a junior, took second in the race, crossing the line in 18 minutes, 36.45 seconds.
The Redhawks women's team finished with 39 points while Southern Illinois took second with 42.
Brandi Gervais took fifth (18:46.65) for the Redhawks. Rounding out the team's scoring were Esther Mathias (18:59.88), Monica Noble (19:15.52) and Linnea Woldtvedt (19:54.48).
The Southeast men's team took second with 109 points. Brandon Funderburk was the Redhawks' top finisher, taking seventh in 26:04.89. Southeast's other top finishers were Brad DeMattei (19th, 27:13.98), Jason Lumpkin (25th, 27:30.52) and Dustin Davis (32nd, 27:58.76).
