The Southeast Missouri State softball team split a Wednesday doubleheader at Saint Louis University in its final nonconference action of the season.
Southeast won the opener 6-3 before dropping the nightcap 9-1 in five innings. The Redhawks are 16-29 and the Billikens 28-23-1.
The Redhawks had 10 hits in the first game, led by Shelby Stein, Carmen Fowler, Jennifer Vasquez and Elise Sperakos with two each. Vasquez drove in two runs.
Stefanie Barnes pitched all seven innings for the win, allowing eight hits. She struck out five and walked three.
Southeast managed just four hits in the second game that ended early on the eight-run rule. Nicole Troncoso had the Redhawks' lone RBI in the fifth and final inning.
Whitney Dupuis suffered the loss, allowing 11 hits and eight earned runs in four innings. She walked one and did not strike out a batter.
The Redhawks end the season this weekend with a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Tennessee Tech that begins Saturday. Southeast is last in the 10-team OVC.
