Former Southeast Missouri State guard Roy Booker was selected in the second round of Tuesday's United States Basketball League draft.

Booker, who led the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring this past season at 22 points per game, was taken by the Kansas Cagerz with the No. 4 pick of the second round.

Booker was the 12th overall selection of the eight-team USBL, which begins play on April 21.

The USBL is designed to showcase players who might be considered for this summer's NBA draft or who might be regarded as potential NBA free agents.

Former Syracuse star guard Gerry McNamara was the USBL's No. 1 overall draft pick.

Other notable selections were Wichita State center Paul Miller -- taken by Kansas in the first round -- Villanova forward Jason Fraser (second round), Iowa forward Greg Brunner (second round) and Oklahoma forward Taj Gray (third round).
