The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team swept Murray State on Saturday to salvage a split of its Ohio Valley Conference road trip.

Southeast won 25-23, 25-22, 25-12 one day after the Redhawks fell 25-23, 26-24, 18-25, 25-20 at Austin Peay.

The Redhawks, 10-10 overall and 3-3 in OVC play, posted a season-high 17 team blocks in Saturday's sweep of the Racers (12-8, 2-4). Southeast fell two blocks short of the school record.

Senior Emily Coon led the way with eight blocks, followed by sophomore Taylor Masterson with seven and junior Andrea Baylin with six.

Baylin led in kills with eight and senior Berkley Idel recorded 13 digs.

Freshman Katarina Rotta, making her first collegiate start at setter, dished out 24 assists while adding eight digs.

Senior Colleen Yarber had 14 kills and 10 digs during Friday's loss to Austin Peay (8-14, 5-1 OVC).

Coon contributed 10 kills while Baylin led the Redhawks in digs with 18 to go along with seven kills.

Masterson had seven blocks and seven kills, Idel recorded 13 digs and senior Julie Shives posted 42 assists and 13 digs.

Southeast returns to action Wednesday, hosting Saint Louis University in a 6:30 p.m. nonconference match.

Southeast extended its unbeaten streak to six straight matches Friday but did not come away with the result it was looking for.

The Redhawks and host Eastern Kentucky battled to a 0-0 tie in Richmond, Ky. The teams could not produce a goal in the 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods.

Southeast is 4-4-3 overall and 2-0-2 in OVC play. The Redhawks are 4-0-2 during their unbeaten streak. EKU is 2-9-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the league.

EKU outshot Southeast 13-11, including 5-3 in shots on goal. The Redhawks had a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Southeast senior keeper Ashton Aubuchon made five saves for her third shutout of the season and 19th of her career, which ranks second in program history.

Aubuchon now has 219 career saves, just nine shy of current Southeast assistant coach Lindsay Pickering's school record of 228.

The Redhawks continue their two-match OVC weekend road trip to Kentucky today with a noon contest at Morehead State.
