DECATUR, Ala. -- Southeast Missouri State's golf team could not duplicate its strong opening round as the Redhawks fell toward the bottom of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
After Monday's first-round 291 that tied for third, the Redhawks shot 305 on Tuesday. Their 596 total for 36 holes is tied for eighth among the 11 teams entering today's final round at the Burningtree Golf Course.
Austin Peay is first at 581, followed by Murray State (582) and host Samford (583). Eastern Kentucky (591), Jacksonville State (592), Morehead State (593) and Tennessee-Martin (593) are also ahead of Southeast.
Southeast's Brian Sheehan, after Monday's 2-under-par 70 that had him tied for fourth individually, fell off to 79 on Tuesday. His 149 is tied for 24th.
Brandon Couch and Zach Decker are tied for 28th at 150. Couch shot 74 on Tuesday for Southeast's best round of the day; Decker shot 79.
Also for Southeast, Matt Hillis is tied for 33rd at 151 after Tuesday's 77, while Mark Schmitz is tied for 38th at 153 after Tuesday's 75.
Murray State's Jamie Frazier is the individual leader at 4-under 140.
