EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- The Chaffee Red Devils had suffered three consecutive losses to the East Prairie Eagles entering Friday's contest.

Red Devils running back Tyson Estes and the rest of Chaffee's squad trampled that streak in a 42-12 romp on East Prairie's homecoming.

"They've pounded us for the last three years, so it was good to get a win," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said.

Estes ran for 196 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns to help Chaffee cruise to its fourth victory of the year.

"I don't think we played our best game, but they had something to do with that," Vickery said. "We're looking to get better down the stretch. That's the main thing."

Chaffee (4-2) began to roll late in the first quarter. The first of Estes' many big running plays gave the Red Devils the opportunity to punch it in from inches away with 3 minutes, 22 seconds left in the first quarter.

Estes began running left and gained 10 yards. But that wasn't enough. He cut across the field to the right, broke tackles and made his way to the 1-yard line.

"He's tough to tackle," East Prairie assistant coach Chad Jamerson said about Estes. "He's slippery. He's one of the elite backs in the area. I felt like at times we had a few chances to bring him down, but he was able to just slip away."

Chaffee quarterback Jordan Yahn sneaked it in from a yard out on third down for the Red Devils' first score.

Chaffee scored another rushing touchdown after forcing a punt. Charlie Montgomery ran in from 11 yards out for a 14-0 lead.

Chaffee's defense helped set up the Red Devils' next score. East Prairie quarterback Mack Marcum dropped back to pass and threw to Dalton Golightly. Chaffee's Devon Yahn hit Golightly at just about the same time the ball met Golightly, which popped up the ball and into the hands of defensive lineman Dustin Worley.

Estes scored his first of three touchdowns on a 3-yard run just more than a minute later.

Estes again punched it in, this time from 2 yards away with 43 seconds left in the second quarter, to give Chaffee a 29-0 halftime lead.

Estes continued to dazzle in the second half. He broke off a 29-yard touchdown run that was similar to his run in the first quarter.

He took to the left side of the field, slipped through numerous tackles, found blockers toward the right side of the field, dodged one more East Prairie defender at the goal line and fell into the end zone.

"It's really hard to hold him," Vickery said about Estes. "He's got good speed, but he's got good strength. He cuts extremely well and sees the field. I don't want him to do too much dancing, but he's a playmaker."

East Prairie (1-5) scored its first touchdown when Golightly broke a few tackles for a 20-yard touchdown run to cut the Eagles deficit to 35-6.

Golightly rushed for 168 yards on 26 carries. He also was responsible for the Eagles' second touchdown when he dived in from 1 yard out.

Jordan Yahn, who finished with 119 yards passing, tacked on Chaffee's final touchdown in the third quarter with his second quarterback keeper into the end zone.

The Red Devils rushed for 319 yards and finished with 438 yards on offense. East Prairie relied heavily on Golightly's rushing totals. It finished with 179 yards rushing and 57 yards passing.
