The Chaffee baseball team belted out 15 hits and defeated Scott County Central 16-6 on Friday to collect its second victory of the season.
Brad Daugherty and Steven Dooley each had three hits for the host Red Devils (2-6). Two of Dooley's hits were doubles.
Chris Hamback, who also had two hits, was the winning pitcher.

Notre Dame allowed just two hits -- both infield singles -- and neither figured in the scoring, but the Bulldogs (4-5) still lost to visiting Dexter.
The Bearcats scored one run on a double play and another on a passed ball.
Kirk Boeller allowed one hit and two runs (one earned) in 5 2/3 innings, but he was hurt by eight walks. Anthony Wulfers gave up one hit over the final 1 1/3 innings.
Notre Dame had four hits, led by Jacob Essner with two, including a double.
"Kirk wasn't missing by much. There were a lot of borderline pitches and he wasn't getting the calls," Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett said. "We're just not hitting the ball, and I thought that was going to be our strength."

Central 3, Poplar Bluff 1
Central sophomore Brad LaBruyere struck out 11 batters and limited Poplar Bluff to three hits.
Central (5-8) improved to 3-2 in the SEMO Conference. The Tigers have three more conference games before the tournament, beginning with Tuesday's game at New Madrid.
"Hopefully, we can get on a little run and improve our seeding," Central coach Steve Williams said.
The Tigers had just four hits. Scott Brueckner tripled in the second inning and scored on Brandon Cooper's hit. In the third inning, Steve Miinch reached on an error and Zach Hudson had a bunt basehit before Central accepted three walks in a row to score two runs.

Sophomore Chris Asmus cracked a home run and a double and drove in five runs as Oran beat the visiting first-year program.
Chase Seyer, another sophomore, added a home run for Oran (7-1).
Austin Dumey earned the pitching win. He pitched four innings, struck out four and allowed two earned runs.

Leopold posted a 5-4 victory in six innings against host Oak Ridge to advance to the championship game of the tournament.
In the 5:30 p.m. title game, the Wildcats (4-4) will play the winner of today's game between Woodland and St. Vincent.
Oak Ridge (3-3) will play Meadow Heights in a consolation game.
Oak Ridge defeated Zalma 10-5 to open Friday's play at the tournament. Austin Morrison had two doubles in that game for the Bluejays.
Leopold, which scored a run in the bottom of the sixth as darkness set in to beat Oak Ridge, had similar drama earlier in the day against Delta. Leopold scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh, capped by a three-run walk-off home run by Eric Seiler.

Fralish Cup Tournament
Springfield, Ill., defeated St. Vincent 2-0 in a first-round game of the Fralish Cup Tournament in Carbondale, Ill.
The Squaws (8-4) will play Champaign Central today in the tournament.
Chaffee won the girls competition at its own three-team meet. Ste. Genevieve Valle won the boys team competition.
The Chaffee girls had nine first-place finishes, led by double winners Christe Beck and Kim Hester. Beck won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles events. Hester topped the field in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Chaffee also won the 400, 800 and 3,200 relays.

Perryville finished fifth among 13 teams in the Farmington Invitational. Jaime Hacker had a second-place finish in the triple jump and a fifth in the long jump, whle Brittany Castleberry had a pair of fifth-place finishes. Both were on the 800-meter relay team that placed fifth.
