Rain washed out the final day of the Kelso Klassic tournament on Sunday, leaving the the three-day, 13-team, double-elimination men's fast-patch softball event with just seven games completed.

"We made a decision about 7 a.m. this morning this wasn't going to work, so we sent the teams home," Rick Heuring, assistant tournament director, said Sunday.

The 21st annual event likely will be rescheduled for Aug. 12 to 14.

"This only 99 percent firm," Heuring said. "We're not rock solid yet. There's still a couple issues we have to figure out."

Also Sunday, the Capahas' two amateur baseball games -- an afternoon contest with St. Joseph, Mo., and an evening game with the Riverdogs -- were postponed.

The American Legion baseball game between Cape Girardeau Ford and Sons and Scott County (Medicap) also was postponed.
