The Southeast Missouri State softball team had its hot streak interrupted by Mother Nature.
Southeast's series finale at Morehead State on Sunday was cancelled due to poor field conditions caused by heavy rain. That came after the Redhawks swept Saturday's doubleheader to clinch a spot in the six-team Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
The Redhawks, who have won six of their last seven, are 25-25 overall and 16-10 in OVC play. They are fifth in the 11-team league but just a half-game out of fourth place and only one game out of third place.
Southeast returns to action Wednesday with a 3 p.m. nonconference home doubleheader against Saint Louis University.
The Redhawks then end the regular season this weekend with an OVC home series against Eastern Kentucky. There will be a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday and a 1 p.m. contest Sunday.
