Three of the four area district softball tournaments were rained out Thursday, while the fourth was relocated to the St. Louis area.

Each tournament was to start Thursday, but only the Class 3, District 2 tournament survived the rain. The first two games were moved from Notre Dame to Festus, Mo.

St. Pius defeated Perryville 5-3, while Herculaneum edged Ste. Genevieve 3-2. The tournament will return to Notre Dame today for semifinal games. St. Pius, the fourth seed, will face top-seeded Notre Dame today at 4:30 p.m. Third-seeded Herculaneum will face second-seeded Windsor at 2:30.

The other three district tournaments -- Class 1 District 1 at Naylor, Class 2 District 1 at Perryville and Class 4A District 1 at Poplar Bluff -- will hold first-round games today, weather permitting.

VOLLEYBALL

Leopold 16-11-15, Jackson 14-15-3

Leopold, 22-2-1 and ranked No. 2 in the SEMO Top 10, got its 22nd win of the season against Jackson (16-7-2) at home Thursday.

Holly Jansen led the way for Leopold with 20 kills and six blocks. Courtney Wesbecher had 10 kills and five blocks. Tasha Thiele followed with five kills and seven blocks. Wendy Vandeven had 31 assists.

Molly Hartman had 11 kills and 10 blocks for Jackson. Jenna Leet had a team-high 12 kills and Jessie Koeper finished with 10. Courtney Vance had 17 assists for the Indians.

Leopold's JV (18-1-2) won (9-6) 15-7, 15-10.

Bell City 5-15-15, Advance 15-4-6

Bell City (18-4) upset top-seeded Advance in the championships of the Stoddard County Tournament in three sets.

Katie Niemczyk led the way for Bell City with 16 kills, seven digs and nine service points. Whitney Abner led the way in assists with 22.

Dana Williams led Advance with 12 kills, 14 digs, four aces and two blocks. Alicia Broshuis had nine assists.

Niemczyk and Abner joined teammate Sarah Metcalf on the all-tournament team. Williams and Broshuis were also named all-tournament.

Hillsboro 15-9-15, St. Vincent 6-15-13

St. Vincent (9-14-2) suffered a three-set home loss to Hillsboro.

Chelsey Brown had seven kills for St. Vincent. Danielle Schremp had 12 service points and two kills. Dani Emmendorfer had seven assists.

St. Vincent's JV (6-10-1) lost 15-12, 15-11.

Sikeston 6-15-15, Chaffee 15-3-3

Sikeston dropped the first set, but rebounded with a pair of 15-3 victories to win on the road.

Sikeston's JV won 12-15, 15-13, 15-6.

Herculaneum 16-15, Perryville 14-9

Perryville (6-17-3, 1-6) continues to struggle in conference play, losing in straight sets on the road to Herculaneum.

Lias Pecaut and Alissa Moeckel led the way for Perryville. Pecaut had six points and 10 assists, and Moeckel had nine kills and six digs. Jaime Hacker also had a strong night, with two points, two assists, nine digs and three blocks.

Perryville's JV won 14-16, 15-11, 15-8.
