Raider Men
The Three Rivers Raiders men’s basketball team went 2-1 during last weekend’s Bank of Grandin Thanksgiving Classic as TRC took down SAU Tech (71-61) and Southwest Tennessee (92-77) before falling to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (96-75) in their classic finale.
Faheim Meran led the Raiders with 20 points against Southwest Tennessee as four TRC players finished in double figures.
Meran added 26 points in the loss to NEO as he went 8-of-13 from the field and dishes out five assists.
Three Rivers is 5-5 on the year and 4-2 at Libla.
The Raiders play Saturday against Olney Central College then Sunday against Southwestern Illinois College in St. Louis at the St. Louis Community College Shootout at 3 p.m.
Raider Women
The Three Rivers women’s basketball team went 1-1 last weekend at the Burke/Serna in Texas as they beat Angelina College (64-49) on Friday but fell to host Trinity Valley (81-79) on Saturday in overtime.
The loss only put the Raiders back two spots in this week’s NJCAA Top 25 as they came in at number 13 this week.
Mya Davidson led the way with 14 against Angelina College while Brittani Wells led TRC on Saturday with 15 points.
The Lady Raiders are 7-2 on he year and 4-1 at Libla. Alex Wiggs has his squad churning out more than 82 points per game this season.
Three Rivers plays on Wednesday at Vincennes University in Indiana then return home Friday against Northeast Oklahoma A&M.
