LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Southeast Missouri State University senior Janelle Quigley closed out her cross country career in impressive fashion Monday by finishing 45th out of 254 runners at the NCAA National Championships.
Quigley covered the 5,000-meter course at Rim Rock Farm in 17 minutes 48 seconds.
Michigan's Katie McGregor finished first in 16:47 while Arizona's Amy Skieresz was second in 16:53.
Quigley had become the first Southeast cross country athlete to ever qualify for the Division I national meet by virtue of her fourth-place finish at the Midwest Regional on Nov. 14.
A native of Canada, Quigley was the OVC Female Runner of the Year this season. She won four individual titles, including the OVC Championships.
