Purdue turns back Illinois

Kyle Orton passed for 366 yards and four touchdowns, and Taylor Stubblefield caught 11 passes for 115 yards to lead Purdue to a 38-30 win over Illinois on Saturday in Champaign, Ill.

Orton completed 35 of 50 passes and was not intercepted for the third straight game. He had scoring passes of 2, 5 and 34 yards to Stubblefield and 49 yards to Brandon Jones for the Boilermakers (3-0).

Arkee Whitlock ran for a pair of touchdowns to help Southern Illinois (4-0) shut out Delaware State 49-0 Saturday.

Jacksonville State 30, Eastern Kentucky 23

Maurice Mullins threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jarvis Houston with 31 seconds left to lift Jacksonville State to a 30-23 win over host Eastern Kentucky on Saturday night.
