MALDEN -- Charleston High's boys basketball team suffered its third loss in the last four games as host Malden notched a 51-37 triumph Tuesday night.
The Blue Jays entered the contest ranked fourth in the most recent SEMO Top 10 poll of Southeast Missouri teams. Malden was rated fifth.
Jason Maddox led the 10-5 Green Wave with 19 points. Ashley McMillan scored 11 while Maurice Smith added 10.
Charleston, which fell to 11-3, had no double-figure scorers.
The teams were tied at 12-12 after one quarter. Malden pulled ahead 21-18 at halftime and then opened up some breathing room with a 13-5 third-period edge.
