EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Ja’Niya Smith jacked two home runs and plated four RBIs for Portageville during a 12-8 win at East Prairie on Tuesday, April 4.

The Lady Bulldogs (5-5) overcame an early deficit against the Lady Eagles (1-4) and scored five runs in the seventh inning to secure the victory.

“Smith and Aubrey Greenwell were the showstoppers tonight,” said Portageville coach Kelsey Snider. “That’s the best I’ve seen [Greenwell] pitch this season as well. She kept East Prairie off balance. East Prairie has some girls that can crush the ball and have great pitching, but my girls never gave up. They fought until the end of the game and I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
