SENATH, Mo. — The Portageville girls’ basketball team won decisively at Senath-Hornersville on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
The Lady Bulldogs (11-4) won 54-24 after jumping out to an early lead and boat-racing the Lady Lions (7-7).
“I was just proud of the intensity that the girls played with,” said Portageville coach Kellye Fowler. “Even when things weren’t falling for us offensively the girls continued to play hard. Early in the season, we were letting a bad night on offense turn into a bad night on defense as well and it’s something we have been working on. We talk about playing four complete quarters and I felt like we did that.”
Amiyah Saxton led the Lady Bulldogs with 15, while Aubrey Greenwell added 10. The Lady Lions did not have any player reach double digits.
Portageville travels to Malden (7-7), while Senath-Hornersville hosts Puxico (5-10) on Thursday, Jan. 19.
