The Poplar Bluff Mules swim team honored its pair of seniors on Thursday evening at the Black River Coliseum then hit the road for two nights of competition in Springfield.

The Mules had the Springfield Friday Fights and then the Springfield Invitational as they’re now off until Oct. 31’s SEMO Conference Meet.

During the weekend, the Mules broke five records.

Carson Todd broke the 200-IM (2:14.01) and the 100-backstroke (1:01.41) while Owen McDaniel broke the 100-breaststroke (1:06.43).

The Mules also broke two relay records.

Poplar Bluff broke the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time go 1:34.07 and the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 3:31.55. This was the second time the Mules have broke the 200-freestyle relay program record as they swam a 1:34.61 earlier this year in Columbia.

McDaniel’s record was also previously broken by him as he swam a 1:07.62 at the same meet in Columbia as he shaved more than a second off of his time.
