Josh Ford provided a key two-run single in a five-run eighth inning as the Plaza Tire Capahas shut out the Riverdogs 5-0 on Wednesday in Charleston.

The Capahas had three hits and two walks in the eighth to break open the game. Scott Hubbard added an RBI in the inning and finished with three hits to lead the Capahas.

Jason Chavez picked up the win with seven scoreless innings. Chavez struck out five and allowed four hits. Jamie McAlister and Josh Parham each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

Steve Fowler was the loser for the Riverdogs, leaving the game after facing one batter in the eighth.

Plaza Tire (14-6) is back in action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at the St. Louis Printers.
