Perryville rallied to put a damper on Senior Night with a 46-45 last-second win over the Lady Tigers at Tiger Field House.

A tight game throughout, Cape Central (14-10) moved ahead 40-33 midway through the fourth quarter. But a 9-1 run by the Lady Pirates wiped out that lead and sent Perryville up 42-41 with 1:24 to go.
Alex Wieser's free throw knotted the score at 42. Then on the next Perryville possession Stacy Baer scored two of her game-high 21 points to lift the Lady Pirates back into the lead at 44-42.
Sarah Hyslop converted a three-point play to push Central to a 45-44 lead with 13 seconds remaining to set the stage for Amberger's winning shot.
"All I wanted to do was give Cape a good game because I know they've got a solid team," said Perryville coach Vicki Lohmann, "and we haven't beaten them for years."
Cape Central coach Mark Ruark expected Perryville (15-9) to be a tough opponent.
"They did exactly what I knew they'd do," said Ruark. "I knew they'd come in fired up and they'd be scrappy. We just didn't match their intensity level."
The Lady Tigers' took their first lead of the game, 10-9, on a baseline jumper by Jessica Sinn at the buzzer ending the first quarter.
Neither team shot well in the second stanza as Perryville managed to forge ahead for an 18-16 halftime lead.
Both teams came out of the intermission on fire, as Cape Central knocked down 9-of-11 field-goal attempts and Perryville went 6-for-7.
Jamie Amberger kept the Lady Pirates in the game with 11 points, hitting all five of her shots in the third period. The Lady Tigers held a 36-31 lead going into the final period.
Heather Jenkins led Central with 13 points, while Sinn chipped in with 10. The Lady Tigers were hurt by free-throw shooting, hitting just 8 of 20 from the line.
