FESTUS, Mo. -- Perryville, behind a triple and two RBIs from Chad Stelling, posted a shocking 7-5 baseball victory over state-ranked Festus in the Jefferson County Tournament on Tuesday.
Perryville entered the game with a 3-10 record as opposed to Festus, which came in with an 19-1 mark and No. 2 ranking in Class 3A.
Stelling was 2-for-4 while Mark Scholl and Andrew Meyer banged out a double each for the Pirates.
Perryville scored five runs in the top of the first for winning pitcher Nathan Laurentius (1-2), who pitched 4 1/3 with four walks and one strikeout.
John Miesner struck out four in relief for his second save.
GIRLS' SOCCER
Notre Dame 3, St. Vincent 1
Emily Worley netted two goals as Notre Dame (10-2-2) won in a weather-shortened contest.
After Worley and Caitlin Hoeh of St. Vincent (5-10-1) traded first-half goals, Courtney Vickery scored the game-winner four minutes into the second half off a free kick. Worley added a goal two minutes later off a pass from Amanda Dirnberger, who finished with two assists. The game was stopped at the 60-minute mark due to rain and lightning.
Notre Dame won the JV game 4-0 on a pair of goals by Allison Essner and single goals by Kristen VanGennip and Rita Jo Dirnberger.
Perryville 6, Windsor 0
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ashley Blyzes scored two goals to lead Perryville over Windsor (14-2-1) with assists by Ashley Hadler on both.
Hadler and Jenna Schuessler had three assists each. Britney Weibrecht scored a goal and had an assist. Amber Valleroy and Amy Steffens scored their first goals of the season. Christina Schremp also scored.
Amanda Nuyt had only one save in her 12th shutout of the season.
Perryville's JV (4-4-4) won 3-0.

OAK RIDGE 16, RICHLAND 1
JACKSON, Mo. -- Oak Ridge won its fifth straight game behind Laura Glueck's three-inning no-hitter.
Oak Ridge (7-3-1) scored 13 runs in the first inning, including three on a home run by Mindy Ruch. Cassie Ludwig went 3-for-3, while Chelsea Felter went 2-for-2 with a triple. Candice Schaper and Ruch each added two hits for Oak Ridge, which had nine hits overall.

CENTRAL 6, KENNETT 0
The Tigers (10-3) rolled through Tuesday's rain-shortened game with three singles wins and three doubles wins. Andy Tansil and Andrew Eaton each won 6-0, and the doubles teams of Trevor Blattner and Tansil won 8-0.

CENTRAL 2, JACKSON 1
Lauren Thompson and Megan Conrad scored goals and Lacey Landgraf picked up an assist in Tuesday's win.-- From staff reports
