HILLSBORO, Mo. -- Perryville's girls' soccer team tuned up for districts by routing Hillsboro 9-0 Friday and winning its fifth consecutive Jefferson County Conference title.

The Pirates, who finished the regular season with a 16-2-1 record and a 5-0 league mark, received three goals from both Ashly Hadler and Brittney Weibrecht. Ashley Blyzes, Chris Schremp and Autumn Garris each scored one goal.

Jenna Schuessler had two assists while Hadler, Weibrecht, Schremp, Kate Lowry and Jen Koenig all added one assist. Amanda Nuyt had to make just one save in recording her 14th shutout of the season.

Perryville is the No. 1 seed for the 11-team Class 3A, District 1 Tournament that begins today in St. Louis. The Pirates play their first game at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Baseball

St. Vincent 8, Leopold 0

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Tyler Wengert went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs as St. Vincent (5-13) rolled past Leopold (10-5).

Brett Richardet and Matt Wengert also added doubles for the Indians. Richardet was 2-for-2 and Joey Guilliams added two hits.

Alex Armbruster was the winning pitcher. In three innings, he gave up two hits and struck out six. Adam Bockman recorded his first save of the season.

Chaffee 4, East Prairie 1

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo., -- Zac Horman worked six innings, gave up two hits and an unearned run, as Chaffee (12-8) clinched the Scott-Mississippi Conference title with a perfect record. Horman improved to 8-1.

Brent Thomason had three hits for the Red Devils while Sam Burnett and Josh Lamer added two each.

Oran 7, Portageville 6

ORAN, Mo., -- Portageville scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning but it wasn't enough to overcome Oran (14-4).

Tyler Nelson pitched six innings for the win, allowing eight hits and three runs. He struck out five and walked eight.

Patrick Friga had two hits for Oran. Portageville's Spencer Martin doubled twice and had four RBIs.

JV Baseball

Central 15, Scott City 1

Sean Bard pitched a no-hitter as host Central (11-3) romped in five innings in the first round of the SEMO Conference JV Tournament.

Bard, who struck out two and walked five, also had two hits and four RBIs. Brandon Cooper added two hits and two RBIs.

Central will play either Poplar Bluff or Dexter in the semifinals at 11:30 a.m. today at Kelly. The finals will be at 1:30 p.m. at Kelly.
