DESOTO -- Perryville used two touchdown runs by Ben Kohm and a 99-yard interception return to defeat DeSoto 20-12 Friday night.

Perryville improved to 2-3 while DeSoto fell to 1-4.

Kohm came into the game as Southeast Missouri's leading rusher with 626 yards and added second-quarter touchdown runs of two and 73 yards. Kohm's two runs staked Perryville to a 14-0 lead.

DeSoto countered with a 36-yard pass from Adam Zoph to Cody Terry later in the period as Perryville took a 14-6 lead into halftime.

Kyle Yamnitz turned in the 99-yard interception return in the third quarter to open Perryville's lead to 20-6. DeSoto's Brian Pitzer capped the scoring with a one-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Woodland 15-15

Richland 3-12

ESSEX -- It was certainly a good week for Woodland High's volleyball team.

The Lady Cardinals finished the week with a 3-0 record by beating host Richland Friday night. Woodland improved to 7-9-2 on the season.

"We're starting to play well," said Woodland coach Tammy Brock. "Tonight was the second time this week we served 100 percent. I'm quite pleased with that."

B.J. Cameron served 11 points while Dianna Lukefahr served nine points. Sarah Booth had six kills, Toni Cowell had eight assists and Rebecca Fox added six digs.

Richland's JV won 15-13, 15-9

Oran 8-15-15

Puxico 15-3-10

ORAN -- Oran notched its second victory of the season by rallying past visiting Puxico Friday night.

Sara Heisserer had four kills for the Lady Eagles (2-12) in the first game. Crystal Cochran then served 14 straight points in the second game while Leslie Kluesner served six points in the final game.

Puxico won the JV match 15-4, 15-6.
