PARK HILLS -- Perryville High's girls basketball team rode a strong first half and the scoring of Tiffany Perkins into the championship game of the Class 3A, District 2 Tournament.

The second-seeded Lady Pirates grabbed a 32-16 halftime lead and held off third-seeded North County 56-48 in Wednesday night's semifinals.

Perryville (17-9) will face host and No. 1 seed Park Hills at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the title.

Perkins scored 24 points while Amy Verseman added 11.

"We had a real good first half," said Perryville coach Vicki Lohmann. "We came out sluggish in the second half but it's a big win for us."

Scott City 37, St. Vincent 27

SCOTT CITY -- Scott City tuned up for the Class 2A, District 2 Tournament by winning its sixth consecutive game, a low-scoring triumph over St. Vincent.

The Lady Rams (15-8) got a big game from Becca Gowin, who scored 22 points.

Scott City trailed 15-13 at halftime but rallied in the second half.
