PARK HILLS, Mo. --The Perryville High boys basketball team wound up fourth in the 16-team Park Hills Christmas Tournament after Saturday's 63-51 loss to De Soto.
Chad Ozark led the Pirates (4-6) offensively with 15 points. Tyler Abernathy added 11.
De Soto, the No. 3 seed, grabbed a 19-14 lead after one quarter and was ahead 34-24 at halftime.
"Overall, I thought we had a good tournament," said Perryville coach Jeff Steffens. "We kind of had a letdown after the big win over Farmington, but to be the No. 9 seed and finish fourth is not bad."
Bloomfield Tournament
BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Top-seeded and defending champion Dexter captured its second straight title by beating No. 2 Doniphan 75-67.
No. 3 Portageville claimed third place with a 79-69 win over No. 4 Twin Rivers; No. 5 Kennett won fifth place by routing No. 10 East Carter County Perryville, the No. 9 seed, had upset top-seeded Farmington in the quarterfinals before losing its final two games, including a 66-51 loss to South Iron in Friday's semifinals.
