Perryville fell behind by two touchdowns to Ste. Genevieve in the first half and suffered a 28-14 loss on the road.

"We came out in the second half and made a pretty good game of it," Perryville coach Rick Chastain said. "We just forgot to play the first half."

Matt Unterreiner rushed for 113 yards on 15 carries and scored one of the Pirates' two touchdowns.

Quarterback Cory Buerck scored the other touchdown. He finished with six yards rushing on the night and completed seven of 19 passes for 72 yards. He was intercepted once.

Kirk Luckey hauled in three passes for 36 yards to lead the Perryville receivers. Phillip Buerck made one catch for 18 yards, Greg Wibbenmeyer -- who kicked both extra points after the conversions -- made one catch for 14 yards.

The Pirates fell to 1-3 overall with their third straight loss. They fell to 0-2 in the Mississippi Area Football Conference White Division. They host Park Hills Central at 1 p.m. Saturday in the homecoming game.

Ste. Genevieve, a Class 3 state finalist last year, evened its record at 2-2 overall and is 1-0 in the MAFC White.

St. Vincent 40, Grandview 7

The Indians improved to 3-1 by posting a victory on the road in its Mississippi Area Football Conference Blue Division opener.

Grandview fell to 1-3.
