Perryville boys capture JCC track title

The Perryville boys track and field team placed first at the Jefferson County Conference meet, a two-day meet which concluded Thursday at Herculaneum.

Kyle Dobbelare won both hurdles events and finished second in the long jump and triple jump.

Perryville's girls junior varsity team won with 140 points and the boys won with 163 points.Varsity

Notre Dame bounced back from a loss in the SEMO Conference tournament final to win Thursday at South Pemiscot.

Kevin Statler pitched a one-hitter and had two hits to lead Meadow Heights past visiting Zalma at home. In his last 14 innings on the mound, Statler has struck out 18 and not allowed an earned run. Zack Bynum had two hits in his first varsity start for the Panthers (4-12).

Ashly Hadler scored four goals to lead the Pirates (11-8) in a road victory. Chris Schremp added two goals and an assist, and Ashley Riney also scored a goal. Amber Hacker had four assists, while Jodie Amschler and Amanda Koenig each added one.
