Past winners in lead again at Lassies golf tournament

A pair of familiar names sat atop the leaderboard Wednesday after the first day of the Lassies Classic golf tournament at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Harriette Myers and Diane Fowler shot a 64 to hold a share of the lead in the two-day scramble tournament, made up of 96 teams. Myers and Fowler have combined to win the tournament eight times.

The team of Phyllis Crawford and Yvonne Cross also shot a 64.

Lurking three shots back were the defending champions, Vicki Long and Janice Hoffman. Mary Jane Tyler and Sandy Barclay shot a 69.
