Southeast Missouri State sophomore Jarred Pasley picked up the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Track Athlete of the Week honor, it was announced Wednesday.

Pasley won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.11 seconds in Southeast's home meet against SIU Edwardsville last weekend. That time is the best in the OVC in the event so far this season.

He was part of Southeast's 4x400-meter relay team that took first vs. SIUE with a time of 3 minutes, 32.67 seconds and he set a personal best in the 55-meter dash (6.60).

"Jarred has really stepped up as a leader this year with the young group of sprinters we have," sprints coach Miles Smith said in a press release. "From his warm ups, cool downs and weights, you can tell his is on a mission this season."

The Redhawks compete at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational this weekend in South Bend, Indiana.
