Caitlyn Palmer and Gabriela Vieira broke a total of three Gator Swim Team records for girls ages 13 to 14 at the recent Gator Long Course Kick Off Meet.

Vieira established new marks in the 400 freestyle (4 minutes, 40.22 seconds) and the 200 individual medley (2:32.84), while Palmer broke the 100 butterfly record (1:11.28).

Kyleigh Troxel won high-point for the 15-and-older girls with 145 points.

The Gators had six swimmers with first-place finishes: Palmer (Girls 13-14, 100 butterfly), Lizzie Schmidt (girls 15 and older, 100 and 200 breaststroke), Kristian Troxel (boys 15 and older, 200 breaststoke, 200 butterfly), Kyleigh Troxel (girls 15 and older, 1,500 and 400 freestyles, 200 and 400 IM), Vieira (girls 13-14, 1,500 and 400 freestyle, 400 IM) and Helen Wojdylo (girls 13-14, 100 breaststroke).

Second-place finishers for the Gators included Brogan Davis (boys 11-12, 100 backstroke), Bridget Hale (girls 15 and older, 100 backstroke, 800 freestyle), Allison Hobbs (girls 15 and older, 1,500 freestyle), Austin Hobbs (boys 13-14, 100 and 200 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 1,500 freestyle) and Madeline Siefert (girls 13-14, 100 and 200 breaststroke).

Third-place finishers were Caleb Coots (boys 15 and older, 200 and 400 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 IM), Daniel Janisse (boys 15 and older, 100 breaststroke), Joseph Janisse (boys 13-14, 800 freestyle), John-John Kiefner (boys 11-12, 100 freestyle), Amanda Mabry (girls 11-12, 200 butterfly), Morgan Morris (girls 15 and older, 100 and 1,500 freestyle), Matthew Snyder (boys 11-12, 100 backstroke, 800 freestyle) and Stephen Sugarbaker (boys 13-14, 1,500 freestyle, 200 breaststroke).

Evans scores hole-in-one

Scott City's Jack Evans scored his fifth career hole-in-one on hole No. 4 at Kimbeland Country Club.

Evans used an 8-iron to ace the 134-yard hole.

Harold Shott, Bill Boren and Bob Hedden witnessed the shot.
